3.1.5 Ophthalmology
1. Study of pathogenesis, development and experimental modeling of ocular pathology. 2. Improvement of known and development of new methods of diagnostics of the organ of vision and its appendage apparatus. 3. Development of methods of prevention of diseases of the eye and its appendage apparatus. 4. Development and improvement of methods of physical effects (light, electromagnetic fields, microwave, temperature, radiation, etc.) on the organ of vision. 5. Improvement of methods of dispenserization and dynamic observation of patients with chronic and progressive types of eye pathology. 6. Development, experimental and clinical approbation of new drugs, methods and schemes of pharmacotherapy, gene and cell therapy of eye diseases. 7. Development, experimental substantiation and clinical approbation of new surgical technologies, including the use of thermal/diathermal, radiation, ultrasound, plasma and laser effects. 8. Development, experimental study and clinical approbation of polymeric medical devices for the treatment of diseases of the eye and its appendage apparatus. 9. Development and improvement of optical methods of correction of refractive anomalies, including the use of contact lenses.
