The residency program is designed to prepare a rheumatologist capable of diagnosing, treating and managing patients with systemic connective tissue diseases, arthritis and autoimmune pathologies. The program includes in-depth study of related disciplines and also focuses on the management of complex comorbid patients. Key areas of training include: interpretation of laboratory (general clinical, immunologic, biochemical), instrumental, cytologic, and morphologic data; assessment of the activity, stage and prognosis of rheumatic diseases; application of modern schemes of immunosuppressive and biological therapy; participation in multidisciplinary rehabilitation of patients on clinical rotations in the departments of nephrology, hepatology, pulmonology and palliative care.
