31.08.39 Physical therapy and sports medicine
The residency program is aimed at training a physician in physical therapy and sports medicine with universal and professional competencies in the application of physical methods for recovery, prevention and rehabilitation. The program covers the physiological basis of physical therapy and sports medicine, the pathogenetic rationale of physical activity, and the specifics of managing patients of different ages and functional categories. Key areas of training include: development and application of individual programs of motor activity in various diseases, conditions after injuries and surgical interventions; prevention of exacerbations of chronic diseases, prolongation of remissions and slowing down of progression; support of athletes, assessment of physical performance and control of permissible loads; participation in interdisciplinary programs of medical rehabilitation and prevention of disability.
