3.1.6 Oncology, radiotherapy

1. Implementation of prevention of malignant tumors based on the study of factors of the external and internal environment of the organism. 2. Research at the molecular, cellular and organ levels of etiology and pathogenesis of malignant tumors, based on modern achievements of a number of natural sciences (genetics, molecular biology, morphology, immunology, biochemistry, biophysics, etc.). 3. Development and improvement of screening and early diagnosis programs for oncological diseases. 4. Further development of surgical techniques using all achievements of anesthesiology, resuscitation and surgery aimed at the treatment of oncological diseases. 5. Introduction into clinical practice of achievements of pharmacology in the field of creation and use of cytostatics, hormones, biologically active drugs. 6. Study at the molecular, cellular and organ levels of the peculiarities of occurrence and development of oncologic diseases in childhood and adolescence. Development and improvement of diagnostic, treatment and prevention methods in the field of pediatric oncology. 7. Development and improvement of various variants of radiation therapy of malignant tumors as an independent radical, palliative and symptomatic benefit, as well as a component of combined and complex treatment. 8. Development, improvement and approbation of various methods of radio modification (strengthening the degree of radiation damage to the tumor or protection from radiation damage to normal tissues). 9. Optimization of the use of various combinations of external, intraoperative, intracavitary, intrathecal, intrathecal, application methods of ionizing radiation dose delivery under the condition of guaranteeing the quality of radiation therapy on clinical, radiobiological and dosimetric positions. 10. Assessment of antitumor treatment efficacy based on the analysis of long-term results.
