Study of demographic, socio-hygienic, medical-sociological, socio-psychological problems of aging and longevity; Study of aging processes, mechanisms of physiological, premature and pathological aging, regularities of organism functioning and mechanisms of health assurance; Study of morphological and functional age-related features of organs and systems, the role of various factors in the development of senile changes in the body and mechanisms of formation of age-associated diseases and geriatric syndromes; Development of the principles of preventive gerontology and geriatrics, methods and means in the prevention of premature aging and life extension; Study of etiology, pathogenesis and pathomorphology, peculiarities of clinical manifestations, diagnostic methods and differential diagnosis of diseases in old and senile age.
