1. Study of biosynthesis, secretion, transport, metabolism of hormones and mechanisms of hormone interaction. Development of methods for determining the content of hormones and their activity. 2. Development of theoretical foundations and practical applications of the study of mechanisms of endocrine regulation and coordination of the main processes of vital activity. Investigation of the principles of functioning of the endocrine system and the action of hormones in the norm and in various pathological conditions. 3. Study of cytogenetics aspects of endocrine diseases: identification of hormone genes, hormone receptor genes and genes of other molecules, identification of genetic defects causing the development of endocrine diseases. Identification of molecular genetic markers of predisposition, development of methods of prognosis and early diagnosis of endocrine diseases, justification of personalized approach in therapy. 4. Development of ideas about etiology and pathogenesis of endocrine diseases, metabolic diseases and conditions on the basis of system analysis, fundamental and applied research. 5. Development of scientific, methodological and clinical approaches in diagnostics of endocrine system diseases using modern clinical, laboratory, instrumental, other research methods and modern technologies. 6. Development of new methods of treatment of endocrine diseases: gene therapy, search for blockers and stimulators of hormone secretion, etc.).
