45.04.02 Linguistics

The Master's program “Foreign Language and Intercultural Professional Communication” is aimed at developing communicative competence in the medical and pharmaceutical sphere, taking into account the cultural characteristics of the participants of professional interaction. The program is based on the psycholinguistic approach to language learning as mastering a new image of the world. The training includes two foreign languages: English (main language) and German or Spanish (second language). Masters learn to analyze professionally oriented texts, prevent communicative errors and interact effectively in an international professional environment. The program is designed for physicians, pharmacists and linguists who wish to specialize in medical communication and translation. Graduates have broad career prospects, and graduate theses focus on current issues of intercultural communication in medicine. Classes are taught by professors from Sechenov University and visiting foreign specialists, and some courses are taught in a foreign language.
