Residency is aimed at training a qualified doctor-surgeon, possessing a system of universal and professional competencies necessary for independent implementation of medical activity in the conditions of primary medical and sanitary, specialized (including high-tech), emergency (including specialized) and palliative medical care. The program provides for the formation of fundamental clinical knowledge in the specialty of “Surgery”, the development of clinical thinking, mastering interdisciplinary approaches, as well as the acquisition of practical skills in the application of modern diagnostic and treatment technologies. Key areas of training include: Prophylaxis: prevention of surgical diseases and complications, formation of patients' motivation to a healthy lifestyle, conducting dispensary and screenings. Diagnosis: use of modern methods of clinical, laboratory and instrumental examination to verify surgical pathology, timely detection of life-threatening conditions. Treatment: provision of planned and emergency surgical care, including the performance of surgical interventions of varying degrees of complexity, taking into account modern clinical recommendations and standards; participation in the provision of emergency medical care and assistance in emergency situations. Rehabilitation: participation in measures to restore the health of patients after surgical interventions, interaction with a multidisciplinary team at the stages of medical rehabilitation. Professional development: formation of skills to independently master and implement new technologies, participation in research and educational activities within the framework of professional development.
