The residency program is aimed at training a surgeon who performs diagnosis and surgical treatment of heart and vascular diseases. The program covers all phases of specialty care, including emergency and elective interventions. Key areas of training include: performing surgeries for coronary heart disease, valve defects, aortic aneurysms and vascular obliterative diseases; use of extracorporeal circulation and cardioprotection techniques; management of patients in intensive care units and at the stages of rehabilitation; participation in multidisciplinary approach to treatment of patients with comorbid pathology.
