31.08.43 Nephrology

The residency aims to train a nephrologist capable of clinically sound management of patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, including comorbid and complex clinical cases. The program covers the pathogenetic, immune and genetic mechanisms of nephropathies, approaches to the diagnosis and management of systemic kidney injury and terminal renal failure. Key areas of training include: interpretation of laboratory (general, biochemical, immunologic) and instrumental (ultrasound, biopsy, scintigraphy) data; diagnosis and management of patients with glomerulonephritis, diabetic nephropathy, vasculitis, amyloidosis and complications of systemic diseases; participation in renal replacement therapy programs, monitoring the effectiveness of treatment and preventing the progression of renal failure; mastering the methods of multidisciplinary approach on clinical rotations in the departments of rheumatology, hepatology, pulmonology and palliative care.
