The residency is aimed at training a physician-geneticist capable of diagnosing congenital and hereditary diseases, conducting genetic counseling and participating in measures for their prevention. The program includes mastering clinical, cytogenetic, molecular and bioinformatics diagnostic techniques. Key areas of training include: - Interpretation of prenatal, neonatal and adult genetic screening results; - counseling families on hereditary risks and reproductive choices; - participation in interdisciplinary consiliums on rare and hereditary diseases.
