31.08.01 Obstetrics and gynecology

The training program for obstetrician-gynecologists covers the entire cycle of women's reproductive health: from managing pregnancy and childbirth to providing care in the postpartum period, gynecological diseases and benign breast changes. Special attention is also paid to work with obstetric complications and conditions after termination of pregnancy. Future specialists learn a wide range of professional skills and activities: Prevention: organization and implementation of preventive and anti-epidemic measures, medical examination, assessment of health indicators of the population; Diagnosis: accurate and timely diagnosis of gynecological and obstetric conditions, including emergency cases and pregnancy; Treatment: provision of specialized medical care, participation in emergency care and actions in emergency situations; Rehabilitation: restoring the health of female patients after diseases, surgeries and childbirth, including within the framework of sanatorium-resort treatment; Psychological and pedagogical work: formation of motivation among women and their families to preserve and promote health; Organization and management: effective management of medical units, quality control of medical care, keeping medical records, compliance with occupational health and safety standards. Upon completion, the graduate is ready not only to practice in any setting, but also to be a leader in the health care system.
